Book Review: The Gentle Art of Verbal Self-Defense

Author: admin, 03 16th, 2010

Book Review of “The Gentle Art of Verbal Self-Defense” by Suzette Haden Elgin.

Everyone that has contact with people has had those times when someone has attacked them verbally, or verbal made them feel inferior, helpless or maybe even stupid.

This text teaches powerful strategies for being assertive while maintaining the warm and connected relationships.  I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to improve the quality of their communication with others, and to preserve one’s boundaries and rights in the face of aggressive verbal exchanges.
